An unnamed brand is sending new 30W chargers to media outlets for testing with the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro series. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted in March that Apple would release a 30W GaN charger this year.
The 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will charge at 30W, according to Apple leaks. The current iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max charge at 23W and 27W, respectively. This will be a relatively minor increase unless Apple adopts a more aggressive charge curve (doubtful).
The chargers will charge iPhones using Lightning cables, rather than USB C-to-C cables, Kuo says.We don't think Apple's iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max charger will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. The third-party charger will include a USB-C to Lighting cable.
